The last game of the memorial day compounded the Chairman's XV's misery, losing to Crowthorne.

The third and final game of the memorial day was between the Chairman's now broken XV and a revitalised Crowthorne side, looking to avenge their last gasp defeat by the Chairman's XV younger counterparts.

In a tactical master-stroke that we have come to expect from Pete Ramsdale, he decided that 20 minutes of rugby was too much exercise and his time would be much better spent drinking beer (later on in the night it was also decided that the 700m from the pub to his house was also too much exercise!).

The game kicked off under the gaze of a slightly more lubricated (and record!) crowd and the following play was fairly steady, with both teams giving it their all. It was soon apparent however, that Crowthorne had the younger, fresher legs and they soon had the upper hand too, scoring first. Soon after wards, Gavin Belcher forgot himself and his talent levels, gifting Crowthorne a second try with the worst clearing kick I have seen this season.

Half time came without Kelsey, Wheatley scoring.

The start of the second half was delayed as Pete tried to mastermind a raft of substitutions, by managing to substitute substitutes he had just substituted, all in the same sentence. However, the beer must have taken the shine off his usually impeccable tactical nounce, as Crowthorne scored several more tries, utilising their running game to the fullest. Eventually the ball popped out to Ben Kelsey, and with 15m to go, there was only going to be one outcome for the World's Strongest man (under 105kg!). Another was soon added in similar fashion, although this time the Crowthorne 15 managed to put a big hit in on Kelsey, slowing him (very) briefly. The remainder of the match saw many hand offs, tackles and very little running.

In the end Crowthorne won, Kelsey scored (possibly twice), and James Butler managed to moan at every single breakdown, which the ref really appreciated.

Many thanks to Crowthorne for being great sports and everyone else who attended this great day which raised over £500 in Jason and Dale's name.
