Wheatley stormed out the blocks and amassed a 17-0 half time lead with tries from Aaron Ward, Chris Turner, James Neal with 2 conversions and a penalty added by aaron Laman.
Wheatley opened up Tadley with great tempo and precision keeping the ball in hand, on three minutes Aaron Laman opened the scoring with a penalty after a Tadley infringement.
More of the same allowed Wheatley to apply more pressure and peg the visitors back, However Wheatley let Tadley back into the game with some loose play gifting the ball to the opposition and with Tadley allowed to run Wheatley found themselves having to defend their own line and fortunately the penalty that was conceded was not converted keeping Tadley out.
With the ball back in hand Wheatley were once again in the ascendancy, moving the ball out wide, Aaron Ward collected the ball and broke free from the tackle, once in the open space Aaron Galloped home for a Laman converted try.
Wheatley now bristling with confidence began to break the gain line at will, the ball moving freely between forwards and backs, Chris Turner was the next to score after quick ball found him in space and with a change of angle Turner was able to go under the posts for Laman to convert.
Tadley fought back and put Wheatley under pressure fo the remainder of the half but the defence stood fast and wasn't to be broken. Wheatley took the 17-0 in to the half time team talk.
It was Tadley who struck first in the second half, with the home teams defence caught narrow Tadley exploited the extra man and ran in wide for a converted try.
Wheatley hit straight back with James Neal bashing his way over after some great forward play with the conversion missed.
Wheatley had to hang on for the remainder of the second half with too many errors costing them possession and allowing Tadley to move the ball around.
Despite Tadley scoring once more Wheatley did hang on and played out the win in the closing 15 minutes.
Some flashes of excellence throughout this game with Wheatleys set piece functioning well and the tempo was exactly where we want it to be, also we witnesses some poor decision making putting ourselves under pressure and leading to mistakes.
Great place to work from and spring board into Hungerford this week.
