Wheatley will look to make it two wins from two at the BBO Premier when they take on the Bletchley on Saturday , just seven days on from their 5 point HWO after Littlemore failed to raise a side.
The 5 points gained Last week Is not generally how we would like to earn the bp wn, but it proved exactly what they needed in terms of coming away with minimal injury concerns and five points in the bag.
With that in mind, here’s the team, Wheatley second outing of the season against the Bletchley in Bucks on Saturday.
1. Alex Gabbidon
Gabbers made a positive impression at second row last time out, and with Alex Acklams unavailability due to his veet commitments, it makes sense to rotate the social secretary with the veteran skipper at loosehead.
2. Pete Mitchell
Another who contributed well throughout the opening fixture, with the hooker running off the shoulder of Aaron Laman throughout the afternoon and delivered fine support play.
3. Ezra Rees
Primed for his Second start at tight head Ez was the stand out forward last time out making yards all afternoon, this raging bull will relish the prospect of charging down the red shirts of Bletchley
4. Michael Ridge
The Moose is the Maro of this Wheatley side offering the mobility of a fourth back row with raw strength and lineout prowess of a seasoned second row.
5. Will Morton
Debut for the former Risbrough man, Bill adds size and physicality to the Wheatley pack, loves to carry the ball, this big human is more than a scrummager.
6. James Neal
After being involved in the opening match of the campaign, Nelly looks set to move to blindside to add even more carrying options the starting line-up, having a seriously big tackle and turnover count most weeks.
7. Caillin Taylor
After missing the best part of last season due to damaged vocal cords Wheatley’s loudest back row is back! Caillin will bring the noise
8. Jack Atkinson
Having spent much of last season at parents evening Jack has delegated this responsibility to Jack Taylor his underling, this has freed up his Saturdays to move back to eight and unleash the dalek
9. Hugo Stanford Tuck
Battered and bruised the war horse get his second run at 9 having spent 80 minutes fine tuning his pass Hugo will offer a calm head at scrum half
10. Aaron Laman
Mr Consistent, No surprises here Aaron comes in at 10 for the 22nd consecutive game and is already Wheatley’s leading try scorer of this campaign but is racing up the all time top scorers list, let’s hope he brings those try scoring boots this weekend
11. Jack Harpur
Jack Returns This season and will get the opportunity to prove his worth against the Bletchley in a game that could suit his attributes, given he should get time on the ball.
12. Duane “the rock” James
The selection of Duane is no longer such a gamble given how astutely he handled the inter club warm-ups games. The IT expert is proving he can handle himself on the big stage after a few years out of the game he is more than on the fringe of the squad, and by trusting him to do a job, Laman can deploy this warrior to maximum effect
13. Sanda Mpanza
What’s let to say about this fella? He’s the heart beat of the back line, he captains the defensive game and stalks his prey with devastating effects, he truly is our Spartacus......
14. Harry Walker
Another debutant Walker has impressed in training and earns himself a start this week.
15. Jordan Hook
One of the reliable faces in the squad who should have no problem fronting up, given he did so throughout last season. Keeping the ball in hand Hooky bedazzles the broken field and can gallop in from anywhere.
16. Spencer Bailey
Spencer adds real depth to the back row, with his ferocious tackle count coming on to finish the game he will add a great deal to the flanks
17. Tam
Is also on the bench
