Wheatley hit back in a similar vein after battering the Abingdon defence, A collective maul saw Aaron Laman put the ball down and kick the conversion.
With a series of penalties Wheatley allowed Abingdon to build a comfortable lead ending the half with a favourable 15-7 scoreline.

Despite having plenty of ball, Wheatley were persistently looked to move the ball laterally with out offering much direct running with exceptions from Ezra Rees and Sanda Mpanza.
It was from adding direction that delivered the highlight of Wheatley's afternoon, On his first team debut Keiran Costa delivered a great ball off the top, quickly moving the ball for Aaron to step inside and go under the post unopposed, also adding the conversion.
