Wheatley were unable to make it a 7th straight win, with Didcot running in deserved winners.
The visitors had plenty of possession in the early stages and picked up points on each visit to the Dicot half with 3 Aaron Laman penaltys it was no surprise at half time that Wheatley we’re trailing 10-9 having seen Didcot cross the line twice from close range. Wheatley were unlucky not to have been awarded a penalty try with Spencer Bailey having had the ball knocked out of his hands by an offside Didcot player with the try line beckoning.
That was as good as it got for Wheatley with Didcot dictating play throughout the second half, Wheatley’s disapline wasn’t to the same levels shown in previous weeks with frustration boiling over from time to time, Aaron Laman and Jordan Hook both the recipients of yellow cards.
Didcot to their credit played a very high tempo attacking game with their newly acquired big forward runners frequently breaking the gain line.
