Wheatley couldn’t have asked for more as the conditions suited the fast flowing rugby that they are becoming accustomed with.

Despite this Wheatley were caught napping on 3 minutes with the home side cutting through the defensive line unopposed under the posts for 7 points. 7-0

Wheatley were given a wake up call and responded immediately with Jack Taylor and Aaron Laman putting the hosts under constant pressure and playing the game deep in their half, from this pressure the home side were unable to execute a clean line out and some quick thinking from Simon Chadbone saw him scoop up the loose ball and get Wheatley off the mark, Laman added the extras 7-7

Wheatley began to take control of the game and dominate the break down Dan Bland and Matt Gibb turning over seemingly at will, inevitably this led to a penalty giving Laman an easy 3 points. 7-10

Wheatley backs had now began to step up the tempo and continued hard running in the midfield created space for fullback Jordan Hook go over for 5 points and Laman converted.7-17

Continued pressure from Wheatley forwards gave a platform for Laman to dictate the speed of play and ultimately side step himself into space and add a further 5 point and he slotted another 2 for good measure. 7-24

Farnham showed resolve and made Wheatley work hard for the remainder of the half, with a penalty miss Wheatley missed opportunity to extend their lead further However Wheatley were able to execute a set play from a line out and Laman was the benefactor going over for 5 but missed the conversion. 7-29

Half time

The home team clearly came out fighting in the second half, giving Wheatleys back line plenty to do but on this occasion they were unable to penetrate the Wheatley defence. Wheatley, having weathered the storm, regained control and with strong running from forwards and backs eventually created space for man of the match Jack Taylor to round the entire Farnham defence and score in the corner, Laman missed the conversion. 7-34

With the slope and the wind Wheatley were putting increasing pressure on the home side and bullocking runs from Sanda saw Josh Hillsdon create himself space and show a clean pair of heels to go under the posts. Laman converting. 7-41

The home side lost several players to injury in the lead up to the next score resulting in uncontested scrummaging, this saw Wheatley's mobile pack become more prominent in the loose and quick hands allowed winger Gav Stanton to grab a late brace that Laman converted,
