Wheatley started the game with real intent with the forwards determined to provide a platform for the backs to flourish, inside the opening 5 minutes Wheatley were on the scoreboard after a well worked try seeing Jack Taylor touch down and Aaron Laman adding the extras
The following 15 minutes saw Farringdon carrying hard with some big forward runners but they were unable to breach the Wheatley defensive line. Wheatley continued to offer up turnover ball with Caillin Taylor, Dan Bland and Jack Atkinson all effective in this area.
The next 10 miniutes Wheatley dominated possession and quick fire tries from C Taylor, Sander Mpanza and Jordan Hook, with Laman converting all. Farringdon mounted a sustained attack close to Wheatley's line, but again Wheatley stood fast and Farringdon were unable to cross the line, however the sustained Farringdon pressure did lead to a penalty as Dan Bland was adjudged to have not released the ball.
Wheatley finished off the half with Tighthead prop Alex Gabbidon crashing over from close range, but Laman was unable to land the extras.
The second half Wheatley increased the pressure and pace of the game with further tries from J Taylor, Mpanza and Andy Willis. Willis was now breaching the defensive line at will adding another try himself and creating space for others and again Laman added the conversions
One negative from the game was Wheatley's loss of Dan Bland to the bin after a dangerous tackle, however Wheatley adapted well continuing to dominate the line out and breakdown Farringdon conceded a penalty outside the 22 and Laman secured the 3 points
Wheatley lost C Taylor with a facial injury giving veteran front row forward Simon Chadbone a brief cameo at 6 and the subsequent penalty gave Wheatley the opportunity to find space with quick hands. Chadbone found himself in space an finished in the corner. Laman converted
Wheatley rang the changes with Laman, Fraiser and Taylor all off, but Wheatley showed they have quality in depth and remained in control adding further tries from Taylor, Willis and Josh Hillsdon. Gav Stanton deputising for Laman slotted 2 conversions from 3
