Wheatley put up a strong fight against a well prepared Littlemore side in the quarter final of the Oxfordshire Shield. Having lost 5 players on the morning of the game, Wheatley went into the match with only 1 substitute.
A lucky bounce gifted Littlemore a converted try, before Ben Kelsey ran in for Wheatley. The score at half time reflected the match at 7-7. The second half began poorly for Wheatley, and Littlemore scored two tries through the middle of the Wheatley defence.
A hard fought come back was mounted and tries from Phil Glenn and Rory Stevens, with one conversion from Adam Ford pulled Wheatley back within a drop goal. Unfortunately, the penalty count rose, and Wheatley lost Nick Banton and Oli Holmes to the sinbin, condemning them to defeat.
