Wheatley open put together a strong performance against a unknown opposition in Cirencester with scoring 5 tries and converting 4.
Having lost Jordan Hook and Jack Smith to dislocated knee and shoulder respectively Wheatley were forced into early changes, despite this Wheatley put together a strong performance adapting well to the strong running from Cirencester forwards.
Tries came from Jack Taylor twice crossing the line once after a strong maul from the Wheatley pack and a great individual break away try, Sanda Mpanza also grabbed a brace after capitalising on quick ball Sanda was able to force his way over in the corner, the second came in open play after a quick move to the left Sanda opened up the defensive line and crossed the line. Tam notched 1 from 1 with his first touch of the game exploiting the narrow defensive line and some quick hands from Ezra Rees Tam was able to finish from the 22.
Wheatley enjoyed further chances but lacked a little cutting edge to put the fixture to bed.
