Wheatley will be left wondering what happened in the first half during the BBO Prematch fixture at Hilton Playing Fields of dreams,
Crowthorne who traveled with 13 were to their credit resilient in the first 40 minutes competing well in the loose and giving Wheatley plenty to think about.
It was Wheatley who struggled to create openings and the frustration was beginning to tell with Matthew Gibb taking ten minutes having been adjudged to have deliberately impeded a Crowthorne player.
Late in the 1st half Wheatley broke the deadlock with a well crafted try from number 8 James Neal with Arron Laman adding the conversion.
Following some straight talking at half time Wheatley entered the fray with disict purpose, straight running, building phases and creating space allowed Wheatley to score 11 tries in the second half notably James Neal and Jack Taylor both scoring a hat trick with other scores coming from Jordan Hook, Joe Hobdell, Nick Banton, Dan Bland and Simon Chadbone Arron Laman added all 11 conversions giving him a personal haul of 22 points
Man of the match James Neal covered the ground well in the second half and was prominent in the open play.
Credit to Crowthorne as we now their predicament well as we have been in their situation not long ago but those boys did show real heart in their display and we're sure they will be a different challenge later in the season.
