Back in 1991 Wheatley RUFC poled its resources and build what is now the clubhouse celebrating the tremendous achievement with a grand opening and a fixture to mark the occasion.
On the 29th of September 1991, having been built by Richard Cosier and club members. At the time our president had strong ties with the Barbarians and arranged a side to play Wheatley 1st xv. Players included ex England full back Dusty Hare and Neil Edwards who was playing for Scotland and Harlequins. There were also a number of Premiership players in the side. Wheatley acquitted themselves well and Garry Davis even scored a Try! The score was 35 to 5
