Wheatley romped home with an epic ten try triumph at Holton playing fields of dreams yesterday on a perfect afternoon for the purple army.

The Purple Army handed Hungerford a ten try thrashing as they secured their 2nd home victory of the season and in so doing remain in touching distance of the top four in the BBO Premiership. Having scored eight tries when defeating Drifters l such a result could well have been expected. However in truth the beginning of this game was far more competitive.

Indeed Wheatley were on point with almost all aspects of play although more points went begging with several passes being judged as forward and the open field left begging. The visitors eventually engineered a well worked try when with some determined ball carrying allowing Hungerford to get on the scoreboard at the games death.

Wheatley produced some fine phases of play with the ball being off loaded at each and every opportunity, backs and forwards alike enjoying the time and space they were granted by the Hungerford defence and making inroads with every attack. Wheatley kept their feet on the ground however not going all out disco but continuing to build play with great distribution from scrum half Hugo Stanford-Tuck they backs were able to romp home with tries from Laman, Hook, Smith 2, Mpanza 2, Agius and Stanford-Tuck also getting on the score sheet, Wheatley's forwards also made in on to the score sheet with Ruvern Weir notching his first try for the club and Jack Atkinson bullocking his way over from a loos line out ball. Aaron Laman added six conversions.

Man of the Match Oli Kenworthy

Wheatley dominated in all aspects of play with fantastic discipline at the breakdown and a superior set piece, the Wheatley forwards were prominent in the loose with Alex Gabbidon and James Neal providing a great platform for the off loading game with Oli Kenworthy and Pete Mitchell happy to gallop in to the space created, Oli Kenworthy was voted MoM with a great individual performance and demonstrating his versatillity switching to hooker after Pete Mitchell picked up an injury on Half Time.

Great team performance.
