On 28 minutes Pete Evans was given a yellow card for a breakdown infringement with the retaliation going un punished.
Hungerford began to find a rhythm using a one out pick and go this seemed to bare fruit allowing the visitors a rare foray into the Wheatley 22, great defending from Wheatley saw the ball turnover and the home side exit the danger zone, Wheatley now back to 15 began to dominate possession gained a foothold in the Hungerford 22, great set piece from Wheatley put the visitors under pressure and continued scrum infringements gave the referee no option but to award the penalty try.
Halftime
After the break Wheatley wanted to get on the front foot from the outset looked to move the ball, a great backline move saw Butler dummy him self into space and burst over for 5 points with Laman adding 2.
A ten minute period was spent around the halfway with neither side able to break the deadlock but with the Hungerford 9 given a second yellow card the extra man began to tell, pressure in the visitors 22 lead to a penalty Laman accepted the invitation to add 3 points,
Wheatley took their foot off the gas and allowed Hungerford a rare visit to their 22, and some ill discipline gave momentum and allowed an unconverted try.
with another sustained game of cat and mouse injured on 75 minutes Wheatley again found themselves in a commanding possession on the defending sides 5 meter line having conceded the turnover, undeterred the Wheatley set piece piled on the pressure with the ball squirting out of the scrum Caillin Taylor was quickest to react and with his outstretched arms managed to apply downward pressure to score an unconverted try.
Dan Rule on Route to the try line
On the 80 minute mark Dan rule having switched to centre arrived at pace an evaded a number of tackles to collect his brace Arron Laman putting the icing on the cake and landing the conversion.

A great team performance in what was challenging conditions set piece functioning well and Wheatley employing the offloading game to good effect, Jack Taylor was put under the microscope against one of Oxfordshires finest in Anthony Cope but proved he cab rise to the challenge, Ezra Rees and Dan Rule took a joint MOM award both having great afternoon, and finally a huge congratulations to Aaron Laman who became a Dad on Friday but still found time to orchestrate his back line and score 11 points with the boot.
