Wheatley were a little slow out the blocks with Littlemore opening the scoring on the sixth minute with a Stuart Beal penalty,
three minutes later a narrow Wheatley defence were undone from a solid Littlemore set piece, Moving the ball wide for Jonny Gerrard to score out wide withe conversion missed.

Wheatley now more at ease in the occasion started to find continuity in open play with James Neal and Alex Gabbidon starting to breach the Littlemore defensive line, continued pressure saw Littlemore starting to infringe at the breakdown with continued penalties eventually awarded with Aaron Laman kicking a penalty to reduce the deficit.

Wheatley continued to press the Littlemore defence but continued attacking play went un rewarded with the final pass not going to hand or the ball being knocked on. Littlemore eventually broke free for their 22 and started to apply pressure to the purple wall, Sanda Mpanza more than once providing try saving cover tackles to keep Littlemore at bay.

It was uncharacteristic of Wheatley to leave space tight to the breakdown but on this occasion Luke Ward found space to burrow over for a try on the stroke of halftime Beal adding the extras.

Littlemore started the second half in the same vein as the first with Beale adding a penalty to his tally with Wheatley a little hard done by conceding the penalty for "careless use of the boot"

Wheatley not to concede the fixture upped the intensity and pressed Littlemore back again breaking the defensive line with Ezra Rees and Sanda making probing runs, Dan Bland was also prominent making a 20 yard break but was blinkered to Jack Smiths supporting line instead opting to take the contact, never the less quick ball found Jack Taylor with enough space to ghost through the defensive line and cross the line with Aaron Laman adding the conversion.

Eventually the frustration got the better of Wheatley and a penalty gave Littlemore an exit and a further on the 22 allowed another opportunity to exploit the narrow defence with Rich Tatersall scoring.

Wheatley entered the final quarter with confidence and with Littlemore conceding at the breakdowns Laman was able to find his range, putting Littlemore under more pressure, Wheatley did cross the line once more but with the official united the play was brought back fo the previous penalty, Again Wheatley probed the corner but a poorly executed line out let Littlemore off the hook with little time to play Littlemore were able to clear there lines and see out the match.

Credit to Littlemore they took their chances and sustained continued periods of Wheatley pressure, Wheatley must take heart from this display with their young team gaining valued experience from the occasion, Wheatley had chance to bring the game to Littlemore but small errors cost them the opportunity to do so.
