CULT hero Iain Downer, otherwise known as the Downer, played his final home game for the Purple army last weekend.
The Wheatley Fullback is off to pastures new, where his tryscoring talents and strictlyesque footwork will undoubtedly dazzle the locals.
“Mate, dig a hole and bury me, it doesn’t get much better,” he said in an interview after the game. it’s great to have a win today, in front of the Sea of Purple again. Possibly for the last time, but I haven’t heard no fat lady yet, so we’ll take it from there.”
The Wheats could still make the BBO Prem promotion spots, but probably won’t overhaul Slough RFC for the title.
"With Iain re-locating to London at the end of last season we fully understand Ians decision to seek out a local rugby club and appreciate his input and effort over the last season and a half"

We wish Iain all the very best with his new club
